Based off of the Jin Gui Yao Lue formulae, Xiong Gui Jiao Ai Tang and Dang Gui San, this formula is appropriate for "calming the fetus" in women with dry blood and manifestations of restless ministerial fire which has lost its root as a result of blood dryness, causing premature contractions. It gently moves stasis while moistening the blood. It addresses the yangming/jueyin axis in order to preserve the merging of yin and yang, and therefore the circulation of fire and water.
Differential diagnosis: if there are no signs of stasis/intense dryness or empty heat, use Overactive Uterus instead.
