Environment
As practitioners of natural medicine, we have a deep commitment to the environment...
to all our relations!

Eco-friendly packaging:

Our herbs are packaged in resealable, fully biodegradable and compostable pouches. Even the zipper is compostable! Please compost in your commercial compost outlet (green bin or large farm compost pile) rather than your home garden compost though, as it needs high temperature compost to fully biodegrade. We have thus bypassed the use of plastic or glass. These pouches are much lighter, which allows a better carbon footprint during shipping.

We have also eliminated the need for the plastic scoopers often used by granule companies to measure grams of herbs. Rather, we have converted that measurement into teaspoons, so that anyone with a baking spoon measuring set at home can get the right dose, without sending more plastic into the earth!

Please note: the pouches are durable, but because of their biodegradable nature, they will perform best in a dry environment. Avoid storing in damp areas. Kept dry, the herbs will have a shelf life of well over a year.

Production:

Tianjiang farms adhere to GAP (Good Agricultural Practices) international standards, and special attention is given to terroir and traditional growing methods which yield the best quality herbs. In addition, they champion the cause of endangered species and help to replenish endangered herb populations by growing those species and replanting a portion of their crop in the wild. For more on Tianjiang, please see here.

Social:

Between Heaven & Earth is a company run by a woman, single mother, employing other women and wonderful people with an overwhelming amount of ability, and also some disabilities. When buying our products, you are helping put food on our tables, send our children to college, and support our vision of a fair, heart-based and nature-friendly business model!

Thank you for supporting us!
